This Mommy Mermaid with her daughter mermaid is gorgeous (a mermaid child with a fish wants to keep a new pet) but the story it tells really struck a chord with me.

When my daughter was a little girl, she would come home from school or a friend’s house carrying a dog, a cat, a puppy or a kitten and the first words out of her mouth at first sight of me were always “Look what followed me home Mommy”. As any parent knows … an animal in your child’s arms did not “follow” them home - it was carried home … :) … the second phrase out of her mouth would then be “Mommy can I keep her - him - it” … as the mother of my 10 1/2 yr old grandson, she is still rescuing animals .. she has 2 puppies .. maybe about 3 months old … as well as her Boxer, Bad Dog “Magnus” and Miss Candy.

The Bad Dog weighs in at the same as 70 lbs … Miss Candy at 30 lbs and the two puppies … one is about 20 pounds and the other is about 14 or 15 lbs … the littlest one was nearly starved to death when my daughter rescued these babies! The bigger one was not as starved but she is a little butterball now … both are adorably cute and cuddly and fun … last week-end when my daughter was dropping off my grandson, she had the puppies in the car too. The littlest one was on her lap and started barking at me … I laughed a lot … it was so cute … I barked back at her and she kept on barking at me.

Every fantasy reader knows that there are mermaids … this lovely mermaid has gorgeous hair and her tail fin matches her hair.

Michael Savage has done an excellent job of portraying her hair. It looks like she is in the water and that her hair is ebbing and flowing with the water movements. That is not exactly the easiest thing for an artist to do but he has mastered it. Her hair being perfect in her natural environment brings this painting so real I expect her to start singing any time now.

I was so busy looking a her marvelous hair that I almost missed looking at her watery surroundings … :) … the plant life is fabulous and the color harmony of this painting is exceptional. This entire gallery is a must see for fantasy art lovers.
