Today’s featured art is Froggie by Londie Benson
This frog has the most expressive eyes! The standard white mat and black frame echo the eyes and create movement and are a perfect choice.
This artwork would be a great gift for a frog collector or to decorate a child’s room. It would be marvelous in a children’s doctor or dentist’s office or in the playroom or hospital rooms of any children’s hospital too.
It is bright, colorful and cheerful as well. I’m not sure if it is getting ready to catch a fly or is it is butterfly or perhaps a dragonfly? Do frogs even eat dragonflies or butterflies? I’ve always heard about the fly but I’m thinking they probably will eat any insect that gets in range of their tongue.
My daughter likes frog art so whenever I see a cute frog, I tend to buy her one - one year I found the cutest stuffed frog for her knick knack shelf … she laughed at the expression on it’s face.

Today’s featured art is The City That Never Sleeps by Elizabeth Austin-Craig
This is exactly how I see Houston Texas … bright colorful and never sleeping with the Gulf of Mexico right around the corner.
This abstract could be any city - I’ve heard it said that Las Vegas is the city that never sleeps … with all those casinos and gambling, that is probably very true - I haven’t been there except once for a very short time as a stop-over in the bus station on my way to California to visit my older sister waaaay back when … before my daughter was even thought of so you know it has a been a couple years or so … LOL … but that bus station was wide awake and swarming with people in the middle of the night and when I went outside in front of the bus station - it was lit up like a Christmas tree - at that time, I had never seen so many lights in a city in my life - I was a hick from the sticks of Des Moines Iowa back then with no idea of how big these big cities really can be - I hadn’t seen LA yet.
I’ve also heard that Chicago, Washington DC, New Orleans and New York City are also cities that never sleep - I have not been to any of them [I was at the Chicago airport when I was 6 or 7 going to Atlanta Georgia but I don't count that since I do not even remember it or Atlanta] so I have no idea if that is true or not.
I like the frame and mat choice - it looks very good and brings out the bright colors in the painting very well. The gold frame echoes the yellows in the painting.
