Alien Landscapes

Whether you label them alien landscapes or surreal landscapes - to me, they are realms of fantasy where magic can and does happen. Some landscapes are full of idyllic scenery that enhances beautiful imagery, peaceful enchantment or restful harmonies - before scenes of daily life - before evil mangles a world into grotesque demonic havens for bugbears, goblins, trolls and vampires.

I much prefer scenery where fairies, angels, elves, brownies, dwarves and mermaids live together happily in peace and harmony with joy singing in the winds while the sun (s), moon (s) and star (s) sparkle in orbit in the skies overhead or underfoot - which ever it may be.

Today’s featured art is by Anne VisNote From Barbara: All of her work is memorable - in my opinion - once you see it - you will always remember it - it reaches out and touches your soul - the ethereal light in her paintings is breath-taking! The color harmonies, the details, the concepts and the execution of the complete painting is excellent composition. These are the kind of fantasy worlds where I would want to visit and rest a weary soul from traversing the galaxy highways and byways from one universe to another. Though, I have a lovely perfume bottle whose shape is similar to those lovely buildings.

I believe Knor is the cat, not the bird. I love his world - it is a cold desert - reminds me of my Frozen Tropics oil painting with a blue palm tree - contrast and turning concepts inside out are fun in creating art.
