Today’s featured art is King Kyryk Redbear by Sara Forlenza
This painting of a dwarf king is exactly what I would expect to see if one strolled into my living room
..
the jeweled armor … designed weapon and armor … the short stature with muscles from blacksmithing … the hair and beard are the main warm colors thought he boots and armor accents also have golds and browns … the winter blues, silver wolf fur wrap … dull metal armor … cool colors … lots of contrast between warm and cool and it is balanced perfectly on a kn9ife edge between the two.
Excellent attention to detail and balance of color harmony.
A knight sleeping with a dragon is not exactly what one thinks of when hearing the words knight and dragon together in the same sentence
… but it is a wonderful contrast and unexpected visual that makes one stop and consider other possibilities than just just knights hunting down dragons to kill them … fantasy books have long partnered dragons and knights as more than just foes to the death … some dragons are good and wise while others are to be tracked to their lairs for final death thrusts from swords … both can be in the same book so why not paintings of knight and dragon partnerships too?
This would be a wonderful addition to anyone’s fantasy art collection. The dragon scale detail is marvelous and took a long time to accomplish. The tattoo art on the knight is a bit unexpected as well … most knights are not pictured with tattoos … usually their armor covers them from head to toe so not much if any of their body or faces are ever seen. Great job!
